Re: WRT54GX4 - Blackberry
Reflash firmware, hard reset router for 1 minute and set all settings again. Change channel to 1. And in advanced wireless settings, change beacon interval to 50, fragmentation threshold to 2306, and RTS threshold to 2307, DTIM to 2
WRT54GX4 - Blackberry
I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 and the LinkSys WRT54GX4-SRX400 Router.
I have the updated Firmware 1.00.20.
I have tried with MAC filtering on and off.
The Blackberry clearly sees the network, tries to connect and then fails. Reason :W010 - WiFi Association Failed.
I have searched Blackberry forums everywhere, and find multiple instances of the same problem with this model of Router. I am surprised that I have not yet seen it posted here.
I find it hard to believe that one particular model would not be able to connect to the Blackberry. I can connect to other Routers no problem...but that doesn't help me at home.
Can anyone help?
I like the router but am frustrated beyond belief!

Remember all the posts I did about anxiously awaiting the HTC Shift? Heck, I even sold my HTC Advantage in anticipation of purchasing one in October…only to find out that I had jumped the gun (more than) a little bit. The wait got so bad that I started to think the mini-laptop was just a whisper of something that HTC had planted in my brain, perhaps even a figment of my imagination. Sure, a few of them popped up on the internet over the last year, but it just seemed like delay, after delay, after delay plagued the mini-laptop. digital-fingerprint@geardiary.com
Well, it would appear that the wait is over, in Europe at least, February 11 marks the HTC Shift’s official availability.
When Jerry took this picture of me holding the Shift at CES, if finally began to sink in that the device might actually appear. The question now will be, is it too late or do I still want one? We shall see.
RIM patents touchscreen LCD
Based on the four month period between filing and publishing instead of the usual 18 months, we're probably going to be seeing something soon.
ZDNet has discovered that RIM has patented a form of touchscreen LCD. The patent, titled System and Method for Integrating A Touchscreen Within an LCD, describes “a touchscreen which is integrated into an LCD” in more detail than you can shake a stick at. The technology works primarily by detecting displacement of liquid crystal in a display and sending information based on that movement. ZDNet author Russell Shaw pointed out that the patent was published only four months after being filed rather than the usual 18, a very good indicator that the technology will be used soon. The rumors about a touchscreen for the BlackBerry 9000 have been mostly quashed, so it remains to be seen what device the technology will be used in.

mig33 comes to BlackBerry
mig33 is now offering a bunch of IM support, photo sharing and general social networky stuff for your BlackBerry.
I hadn’t heard of them until now, but mig33 is a social networking site for mobiles that allows photo sharing, cheap international SMS and calls, but most of all, it incorporates multiple chat services in its handheld client. There are some pretty cool functions there, but really, how can you not endorse such a cute robotic mascot? I mean, c’mon. Look at that thing. More info on the BlackBerry client here, or you can head on over to http://wap.mig33.com to get your OTA download. Thanks Hayden!

While everyone’s attention is on Microsoft’s acquisition bid for Yahoo!, Microsoft quietly gobbled up Danger. You may not be familiar with that company name, but you probably recognize their product. Danger created the innovative “Hip Top” communicator in 2002 - which later became the T-Mobile Sidekick . We’ve been having a lively discussion about smartphones with Mitchell and others making great observations. When considering Smartphones, don’t forget Sidekick - it’s an entry level smartphone that performs wireless synchronization of emails, address, calendars and more. Plus it offers a great web browser and instant message client. In the states, the Sidekick is offered through T-Mobile. Your guess is as good as mine about what Microsoft will do to with Sidekick. digital-fingerprint@geardiary.com
